A stray mother cat and her one-week-old kittens were given a chance to survive after rescuers stepped in to move the vulnerable family out of danger.

The tiny family was discovered in an exposed area where the mother cat was struggling to keep her newborn kittens warm and safe. Despite being weak and undernourished, she remained devoted to her babies, rarely leaving them except to search for food.

Knowing the kittens were only about a week old and completely dependent on their mother, rescuers carefully transported the entire family to a veterinary clinic.
