THREE BODIES, THREE DAYS, ONE CITY — POLICE SAY NO CONNECTION HAS BEEN FOUND

Authorities in Minneapolis are investigating after three bodies were discovered at separate locations over a three-day period.

The close timing and proximity of the discoveries have naturally raised questions — but police say there is currently no known connection between the cases.

THE FIRST DISCOVERY

On Saturday evening, a body was found in a wooded area near East River Flats Park along the Mississippi River.

The victim was identified as 56-year-old Karen Lynn Sognesand of Maple Grove.

THEN ANOTHER BODY

The following morning, a second body was recovered near the shoreline of Bde Maka Ska Lake.

Authorities have not publicly released the person’s identity or cause of death. Reports said the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, making identification more difficult.

THE THIRD DISCOVERY

On Monday afternoon, University of Minnesota police were notified after a body was found near the Stone Arch Bridge along the Mississippi River.

The victim was later identified as 54-year-old Randip Eugene Satoskar of Minneapolis.

Three separate discoveries.

Three different locations.

All within roughly three days.

ARE THE DEATHS CONNECTED?

That is the question attracting the most attention.

But at this point, authorities have not said the deaths are connected, and there is no public evidence establishing that a serial offender or coordinated criminal activity is involved.

Minneapolis police said they are familiar with all three cases but currently know of no connection between them or to other incidents.

A separate death was also reported Wednesday beneath the Hennepin Avenue Bridge; police described that incident as an apparent suicide.

Investigators still have to determine how each person died, where the deaths occurred and whether any evidence links the cases.

For now, the biggest mystery remains:

Why were so many people found dead near Minneapolis waterways within such a short period — and are these tragedies truly unrelated?
