KAREN SOLOMON: SEARCH INTENSIFIES AFTER ARREST WARRANT ISSUED IN OFFICER’S DEATH

A major search is underway in Worcester, Massachusetts, for 58-year-old Karen Solomon, after authorities issued an arrest warrant in connection with the death of her husband, longtime Worcester police officer Kurt Solomon.

The case has drawn national attention not only because of Kurt’s decades of service, but also because Karen is a prominent advocate for the mental health of police officers and first responders.

 KURT SOLOMON WAS FOUND DEAD AT HOME

Police responded to the couple’s Worcester residence shortly before 5:30 a.m. on August 18, 2026, after receiving a call from the home.

Kurt Solomon, 57, was found fatally injured.

He had served with the Worcester Police Department for 31 years.

Police Chief Paul Saucier said Kurt suffered a fatal injury involving a sharp object, although investigators have not publicly identified the specific weapon.

KAREN WAS SEEN LEAVING THE AREA

Doorbell-camera footage captured Karen walking away from the neighborhood shortly after officers responded to the home.

She was reportedly wearing casual clothing — a T-shirt, shorts and flip-flops.

Authorities have been searching extensively for her, including areas around Coes Pond, where police have used dive teams and police dogs. Public spaces in the area have also been closed during portions of the search.

Police have warned the public not to approach Karen and have described her as potentially armed.

 AN ARREST WARRANT HAS NOW BEEN ISSUED

The investigation reached a major turning point when Worcester police confirmed that an arrest warrant had been issued for Karen.

The warrant charges her with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, with serious bodily injury referenced by police in describing the warrant.
