Ohio Doctor Who Researched Teenage Killers Killed in Alleged Plot Involving His Own 18-Year-Old Daughter

Dr. Tamela Dutcher, a 55-year-old physician from Delaware County, Ohio, was fatally shot inside her home on August 14, 2026, in a case authorities say involved an alleged plot by her own daughter.

Police allege that 18-year-old Bryanna Dutcher planned the killing following an argument with her parents over household chores. Bryanna’s boyfriend, 20-year-old Christian Evans, and his roommate, 21-year-old Dajameous Payne, have also been charged in connection with the case.

According to police records, Tamela was shot in the face, while her husband was also shot but survived.

A striking detail about the case is Tamela’s professional background. She had previously co-authored a 2002 study titled “The Violent and Homicidal Adolescent,” which examined violent behavior and young people who commit homicide.

The connection between the researcher’s professional work and the allegations now involving her own family has drawn significant attention.

The charges and allegations against Bryanna Dutcher, Christian Evans, and Dajameous Payne have not been proven in court, and the investigation remains ongoing.
