MICA MILLER’S DEATH RETURNS TO THE SPOTLIGHT AS NEW NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY EXAMINES HER FINAL DAYS

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — More than two years after Mica Miller was found dead at a North Carolina state park, her story is once again drawing national attention as a new Netflix documentary examines her troubled marriage, allegations of abuse and the unanswered questions that followed her death.

The three-part series, “Death of the Pastor’s Wife,” premieres on August 26, 2026, and features previously unseen footage as well as interviews with Mica’s friends and family.

Mica, 30, was found dead at Lumber River State Park in North Carolina on April 27, 2024.

Earlier that day, she had traveled to the park and contacted 911, telling the dispatcher she was in distress and wanted her family to know where she could be found. Authorities ultimately ruled her death a suicide.

Her death nevertheless generated intense public scrutiny because of what had reportedly occurred during the final period of her marriage.

QUESTIONS SURROUNDING HER MARRIAGE

Mica had been married to John-Paul Miller, a pastor at Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach.

Before her death, Mica had reportedly sought a divorce and expressed concerns about her relationship and alleged harassment.

Federal prosecutors later accused Miller of engaging in a prolonged campaign of cyberstalking against her.

According to the federal indictment, the allegations include unwanted communications, placing tracking devices on her vehicle, contacting her repeatedly, interfering with aspects of her life and posting an intimate photograph of her online without her consent.

Miller has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges.

Importantly, he has not been charged in connection with Mica’s death, and authorities have officially ruled her death a suicide.

Netflix says the new series focuses on Mica’s life, her marriage and the circumstances surrounding her death.

It also features firsthand accounts from people who knew her, giving viewers a closer look at the woman behind the headlines.

The filmmakers said they wanted to ensure that Mica’s own experiences were not forgotten while examining the questions that remain surrounding her story.

JOHN-PAUL MILLER’S LEGAL CASE CONTINUES

While the circumstances of Mica’s death remain officially classified as suicide, the legal case involving her former husband has continued.

Miller faces federal charges of cyberstalking and making false statements to investigators.

He has denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty. His case has also experienced delays, with proceedings moved into the October 2026 term.

The federal allegations concern his conduct toward Mica and his statements to investigators — not a criminal charge accusing him of causing her death.

WHY THE CASE IS BACK IN THE HEADLINES

The timing of the documentary is significant.

Mica’s death initially generated widespread online speculation, but the new series brings together interviews, previously unseen material and the legal developments that occurred after her death.

Rather than simply revisiting the circumstances of April 27, 2024, the documentary attempts to reconstruct what Mica was experiencing in the months leading up to that day.

And that is what continues to draw attention to the case.

Mica Miller’s death was officially ruled a suicide. But the allegations surrounding her marriage, the federal case against her estranged husband and the questions raised by her family have ensured that her story has never truly disappeared.

Now, with Death of the Pastor’s Wife arriving on Netflix, Mica’s final months are once again being placed under the microscope — and her family’s search for answers is receiving a new national audience.
