“WE JUST WANT ANSWERS”: MISSING NEW YORK GRANDMOTHER ALISA GOODS FOUND NEAR LAS VEGAS AIRPORT AFTER 12-DAY SEARCH

For nearly two weeks, Alisa Goods’ family feared they might never know what happened to her.

The 63-year-old New York grandmother had traveled to Las Vegas to visit a longtime friend. On Aug. 8, she left the home to run an errand at a nearby CVS — but she never returned.

Then came a series of strange messages from her phone.

Her family received texts asking for help, gas money and Bitcoin. The requests immediately raised alarms, particularly because Goods did not drive.

Her loved ones feared someone else could have been using her phone.

Now, investigators have uncovered surveillance footage that provides a haunting glimpse of her final known movements.

But it still leaves her family with questions.

THE SEARCH FOR ALISA

Goods, a grandmother of five from New York, was visiting a longtime friend in Las Vegas when she disappeared.

According to her family, she left the residence on Aug. 8 and was last known to have reached a CVS near Paradise Road and East Harmon Avenue.

She was reported missing two days later.

Her daughter, Kristen Goods, traveled to Las Vegas and began checking hospitals, jails and other locations as the family desperately searched for information.

“We want her home. We want her back,” Kristen said during the search.

But the investigation became even more confusing when messages began arriving from Goods’ phone.

THE MYSTERIOUS TEXTS

Family members said the messages requested money, including gas money and Bitcoin.

The request for gas immediately stood out.

Goods did not drive, so relatives could not understand why she would suddenly need money for fuel.

The messages fueled fears that someone else had possession of her phone.

Her family wondered whether she had been taken somewhere against her will.

At the time, they had no idea that investigators would eventually locate surveillance footage showing Goods near Harry Reid International Airport.

THE SURVEILLANCE VIDEO

On Aug. 20, a woman’s body was discovered in a drainage area near Wayne Newton Boulevard and the Terminal 1 parking garage at Harry Reid International Airport.

She was later identified as Goods.

Police reviewed surveillance footage from Aug. 8 and found footage showing Goods falling down an embankment.

According to Las Vegas police, she appeared to get back up before collapsing.

After that, surveillance showed no further movement.

The location where she ended up was not visible from the street, investigators said, helping explain why she remained undiscovered for days.

Her body was eventually located after a passerby reported seeing a woman in the drainage area.

A FAMILY STILL SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS

The discovery brought an end to the agonizing search — but not to the questions.

According to the latest reports, the exact cause of Goods’ death has not yet been publicly established.

Her daughter has also reviewed surveillance footage that appears to show her mother behaving unusually before falling.

The footage reportedly shows Goods sitting down, throwing her bag over the embankment and then climbing over before falling. She briefly attempted to get back up before collapsing again.

Her family has described the behavior as completely out of character.

They are now waiting for the medical findings that could help explain what happened.
