For Alisa Goods’ family, a routine trip to Las Vegas quickly turned into a nightmare.

The 63-year-old New York grandmother had traveled to Las Vegas in early August to visit a friend, something she had done before. On Aug. 8, she left her friend’s home and boarded a bus to a nearby CVS to pick up a prescription.

She never returned.

Nearly two weeks later, her family learned that Alisa had been found near Harry Reid International Airport.

Now, they are demanding answers about her final hours and asking authorities to release surveillance footage they believe could help explain what happened.

SHE LEFT FOR THE PHARMACY — AND NEVER CAME BACK

According to Alisa’s daughter, Kristen Goods, there was nothing unusual about her mother leaving to pick up her prescription.

Alisa did not drive, and the plan was reportedly simple: take the bus to the CVS, get her medication and return to her friend’s home.

“She would never just go off and just have no communication,” Kristen told FOX5.

When Alisa failed to return, she was reported missing the following day.

Then the family began receiving messages asking for money for gas.

That immediately raised concerns.

Alisa and her friend did not drive, making the messages appear unusual to her family.

Kristen eventually boarded a flight from New York to Las Vegas herself.

She began putting up missing-person flyers and searching for her mother, still hoping she would be found safe.

“We wholeheartedly thought that … something by way of a miracle would happen,” Kristen said.

12 DAYS OF UNCERTAINTY

For nearly two weeks, Alisa’s family lived with uncertainty.

Then police contacted them with devastating news.

Alisa had been found.

But she was no longer alive.

Her body was discovered approximately two miles from the CVS where she was last seen, near Wayne Newton Boulevard and the Terminal 1 parking garage at Harry Reid International Airport.

The discovery left her family with even more questions.

WHAT DOES THE SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SHOW?

According to police, surveillance footage captured Alisa entering the area near the airport on Aug. 8.

Investigators reportedly told the family that the footage shows Alisa walking into the area, falling down an embankment, getting back up and then collapsing.

But the family has not been allowed to view the footage.

Kristen says she wants to see the video for herself.

She believes it could help answer critical questions about her mother’s final movements.

Police directed her to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, which then told her to request the footage through the Department of Aviation.

As of Sept. 3, the family was still waiting for a response.

“It’s almost like how we felt when we reported her,” Kristen said. “Like … you know, it’s that feeling all over again that you’re just not important.”

HER FAMILY QUESTIONS THE TIMELINE

Kristen also questions whether the explanation provided by investigators fully accounts for what happened.

She pointed to her mother’s medical history, including knee replacement surgeries, and questioned why Alisa would have made such a long walk on one of Las Vegas’ hottest days.

“So with her having those knee replacements, I’m just confused,” Kristen said. “So it just doesn’t make sense to me that on the hottest day, that’s when she would decide to make that kind of walk.”

The family says it wants facts — not speculation.

At this point, however, several important questions remain unanswered.

Why did Alisa leave the pharmacy area?

Why did she end up near the airport?

What happened during the time between her disappearance and her final moments?

And what exactly does the surveillance footage show?

AUTHORITIES HAVE NOT RELEASED A CAUSE OF DEATH

FOX5 reported that it had contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for an update on the investigation and the coroner’s office regarding Alisa’s cause and manner of death.

The station also requested the surveillance footage from the Department of Aviation.

As of the report’s publication, FOX5 said it was still waiting for responses.

That means the circumstances surrounding Alisa’s death remain unclear.

Her family is now left trying to piece together her final movements while waiting for official answers.

A FAMILY TRYING TO BRING HER HOME

For Kristen and the rest of Alisa’s family, the search has changed from finding her to understanding what happened.

They are also facing the financial burden of bringing her home and arranging her burial.

A fundraiser has been established to help cover funeral and burial expenses.

But money is not the only thing the family is asking for.

They want transparency.

They want to see the evidence.

And most of all, they want to understand how a 63-year-old grandmother who traveled to Las Vegas for a familiar visit could disappear after simply going to pick up a prescription.

Nearly two weeks after Alisa vanished, her family finally learned where she was.
