27-Year-Old Idaho Man Dies in Tragic Gravel Pit Workplace Accident

Seth Vaughn, 27, of Twin Falls, Idaho, died following a tragic workplace accident at a gravel pit in the area of 2950 N. 3500 E.

Emergency crews, including the Rock Creek Fire Department, were called to the site at approximately 4:20 p.m. on September 2, 2026, after reports of an industrial accident.

According to authorities, Vaughn became caught in a conveyor belt system at the gravel pit. Despite the emergency response, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation. The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) is leading the investigation into what caused the incident and whether any workplace safety issues contributed to the death.
