Stella Parton Says She Heard No Condolences From Nashville Contacts After Dolly’s Death

Stella Parton says she has not heard from any of the Nashville entertainment figures she personally knows since the death of her sister, country music icon Dolly Parton.

Dolly passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80, following a brief battle with cancer.

On September 10, Stella appeared on CBS Mornings, where she spoke about the period since her sister’s passing and the response from people she knew in Nashville’s entertainment industry.

“I haven’t heard from anybody in Nashville since my sister passed away,” Stella said, emphasizing that, among the artists and industry figures she personally knew, she had not received a message of condolence.

Her comments were personal, however, and did not mean that the entire Nashville country music community had remained silent following Dolly’s death.

Stella was specifically referring to people she knew personally within the industry. She also speculated that the lack of contact could be connected to the political views she frequently expresses on social media.

The remarks have drawn attention because of Dolly’s enormous influence on Nashville and country music. Throughout her decades-long career, she became one of the genre’s most celebrated figures, earning a devoted following both within and beyond the country music community.
