🚨 UPDATE: 15-YEAR-OLD SURVIVED 62 HOURS AT SEA — THEN REVEALED THE HEARTBREAKING TRUTH

For nearly three days, 15-year-old Derek Parker Aghnaanga clung to an overturned fishing boat in the freezing waters of Alaska.

No food.
No water.
No shelter.

Just a capsized skiff, freezing temperatures and the desperate hope that someone would find him.

Derek had gone halibut fishing near St. Lawrence Island with his 35-year-old brother, Sidney Kulowiyi, and their cousin, Barton Rookok.

Then everything went horribly wrong.

The small boat overturned, sending the three into the frigid Bering Sea.

Derek managed to climb onto the overturned skiff.

His brother did not survive.

According to the rescue crew, Derek told them his brother was still trapped beneath the boat. He then revealed that his cousin had managed to stay on top of the skiff for a time — before slipping away into the water during the night.

Then Derek was left alone.

For hours, he remained on that overturned boat, exposed to the cold and surrounded by open ocean.

By the time rescuers finally spotted him, he was suffering from hypothermia.

The crew of the Northwest Explorer rushed toward the strange object they had spotted on the horizon.

Then they realized—

There was a 15-year-old boy alive on top of it.

They pulled him aboard, wrapped him in blankets and hot packs, and kept him talking as they headed toward Nome.

After approximately 62 hours at sea, Derek was finally going home.

But he wasn’t going home with the people he had left with.

His brother and cousin were gone.
