Arizona Hospital Employee Faints in Court After Hearing Potential 100-Year Sentence

An Arizona hospital employee facing multiple felony charges involving the alleged sexual exploitation of a minor fainted in court after prosecutors outlined the potential prison sentence he could face if convicted.

The accused is Joshua James Lozano, 42, a hospital employee from Arizona. He faces 10 felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

During a hearing in Phoenix, prosecutors told the court that each charge carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison. If the sentences were imposed consecutively, Lozano could potentially face a maximum total of 100 years behind bars.

Lozano reportedly fainted after hearing the potential penalties.

The incident briefly interrupted the proceedings as medical personnel attended to him in the courtroom. The hearing was paused while he received assistance.

Following the proceedings, the judge set Lozano’s bail at $150,000.

His next court hearing is scheduled for September 21, 2026, when the case is expected to move forward through the legal process.

The charges against Lozano are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
