Missing 15-Year-Old Ryker Lee Found Safe Walking in Arizona Desert

THREE POINTS, Ariz. — A three-day search for missing 15-year-old Ryker Lee has come to an end after Pima County Sheriff’s deputies found the teenager walking in the desert, authorities said.

Ryker was located safely three days after he disappeared from his home in the Three Points area near Tucson, bringing relief to the many people who had been following the search and sharing information about his disappearance.

According to the latest update, deputies encountered Ryker while he was walking through the desert. His discovery marked a significant breakthrough in a case that had prompted an extensive search across the area.

Ryker was initially reported missing after he was last seen Tuesday morning near South Silver Springs Road in Three Points, approximately 25 miles west-southwest of downtown Tucson.

As the hours passed without contact, concern grew over the teenager’s whereabouts. Authorities and search personnel worked to locate him, while information about the case spread widely online.

The search was particularly urgent because Ryker has Type 1 diabetes and requires ongoing medical care.

Investigators were also examining serious concerns involving the conditions at Ryker’s home. His three siblings were removed from the residence during the investigation, while his mother, Danielle Lee-Sharp, 39, and stepfather, Michael Menzie, 43, were arrested and face child-abuse-related charges.

Those allegations are separate from the circumstances of Ryker’s disappearance and remain subject to the legal process.

A U.S. Border Patrol BORSTAR K9 named Indy was also credited with assisting in the search and helping track Ryker’s location.
