NOAH WOODS, 3 — THE LITTLE VOICE HIS FAMILY WILL CARRY IN THEIR HEARTS FOREVER

A family’s heartbreaking tribute to their three-year-old son has touched people across the UK, as a separate investigation into the unauthorised access of his medical records adds another layer of distress to their loss.

Noah Woods was remembered by his family as a happy, cheeky and playful little boy who loved to laugh, giggle and bring happiness to everyone around him.

In a tribute released through Suffolk Constabulary, his family shared the memories they hope will define him: his infectious laughter, his affectionate nature and the special bond he shared with his baby brother.

But one detail from their words has proved especially moving. Noah had only recently begun finding and using his little voice, learning new words as he grew. His family said the unique sound of his voice was something they would carry with them forever.

Noah lived with his parents and baby brother. His family described him as deeply affectionate, someone who loved hugs, holding hands and being close to the people he loved.

He adored his younger brother, often wanting to be near him, entertain him and make him laugh.

Noah was being assessed for autism, although he had not received a diagnosis. He also had mild hearing loss and delayed speech. Despite these challenges, his family said he was continuing to learn and discovering new ways to communicate.

They have asked people to remember him as the joyful child he was—not simply as the subject of a heartbreaking news story.

Noah went missing on September 15 after visiting a playground in Brantham, Suffolk, with a relative.

A major search operation followed, involving police, emergency services and approximately 1,300 members of the public. His body was recovered from nearby Decoy Pond the following afternoon by specialist police divers.

An inquest hearing in September heard that Noah had left the play area through a gap in a fence before moving towards the pond. His death was not being treated as suspicious by police, and the inquest was adjourned to a later date.

The scale of the search reflected how deeply the disappearance affected the local community, with volunteers travelling to help and others providing practical support.

TEN NHS STAFF REMOVED FROM DUTY

In a separate development, East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust apologised to Noah’s family after concerns emerged that his medical records may have been accessed without authorisation.

The trust said it launched an urgent internal investigation, secured the records to prevent further inappropriate access and reported the matter to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

ITV News reported that 10 employees had been suspended while the investigation was carried out. The trust said disciplinary action would be considered where warranted by the findings.

The trust’s deputy chief medical officer, Dr Martin Mansfield, apologised for the additional anguish caused to the family during an already devastating time.

The investigation concerns access to confidential patient information. The available reports do not establish that every employee involved deliberately accessed the records or what the final disciplinary outcomes will be.

A FAMILY ASKING FOR COMPASSION

For Noah’s loved ones, the loss is about much more than the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. It is about the everyday moments that made him special: the laughter, the affection, the games and the sound of a little boy discovering his voice.

His mother, Charlie, asked people to hold their children a little tighter, cherish their time together and never take precious memories for granted.

As the investigations continue, Noah’s family deserves space to grieve and the privacy they have requested.

Noah was three years old, deeply loved and full of little moments that meant everything to the people closest to him. His family hopes those memories—not just the headlines—will be what people remember most.

🕊️ Rest peacefully, little Noah. Your laughter and your little voice will live on in the hearts of those who loved you.
