HEARTBREAKING LOSS: 21-MONTH-OLD NYXAILIA HINTON DIES AFTER BEING STRUCK BY CAR AT TENNESSEE PUMPKIN PATCH
Her family is grieving the loss of a little girl her mother says could brighten anyone’s day, as investigators continue looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A Tennessee family is facing an unimaginable loss after 21-month-old Nyxailia Hinton died following an incident at a pumpkin patch in Sevierville.
According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, the toddler fell and was struck by a vehicle driven by a family friend during a visit to a pumpkin patch on Happy Hollow Lane. The incident happened on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
Nyxailia was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. A fundraising page created to help her family described a cracked skull and ribs, as well as the need for a blood transfusion. Despite efforts to save her, the little girl died.
Her death has left her parents and loved ones devastated.
“She just lit up the room,” her mother, Peandra Hinton, told local television station WVLT. She said Nyxailia had a way of turning someone’s bad day around simply by being there.
Mother says she did not know about the pumpkin patch trip
In an interview with WVLT, Peandra said Nyxailia had been in the care of a babysitter who took her to the pumpkin patch. The mother said she had not given permission for the trip and did not know the people who were accompanying her daughter.
Peandra recalled the pain of waking up without her little girl.
“The fact that I couldn’t wake up this morning to my baby, it really tore me up,” she said.
The family is now left holding onto memories of a child whose life had only just begun. Instead of watching Nyxailia grow, celebrating future birthdays and making new memories together, her loved ones are preparing to say goodbye.
Investigation remains ongoing
Nyxailia’s father has also spoken about the family’s desire for answers.
“We want justice for her,” he said, describing the devastating effect the loss has had on the entire family.
The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the incident remains under investigation. As of the latest reports, no charges had been announced, and authorities had not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
For Nyxailia’s family, the days ahead will be filled with grief and questions as they try to understand what happened.
At just 21 months old, Nyxailia had so much life ahead of her. Her family and everyone who loved her will carry her memory with them.
May her loved ones find strength and comfort during this heartbreaking time.</Writing
