PLEASE HELP FIND HIM: FEARS GROW FOR MISSING SCOTS FARMER TOM ALLAN AS POLICE ISSUE FRESH APPEAL ONE WEEK AFTER HE VANISHED

The search for 63-year-old Tom Allan continues in South Lanarkshire, with specialist teams involved and his family desperately hoping someone may have seen him on the morning he disappeared.

Concern is growing for a Scottish farmer who has been missing for more than a week, as police renew their appeal for information about his whereabouts.

Tom Allan, 63, was reported missing from Westmains Farm in the Stonehouse area of South Lanarkshire on Friday, October 23, 2026.

He was last seen by members of his family at approximately 8:15 a.m. that morning.

Despite extensive searches across the farmland and surrounding area, there has been no confirmed sighting of Tom since his disappearance.

His disappearance came as Storm Boelo brought severe weather to parts of Scotland. However, police have not established any connection between the storm and his disappearance.

Police Scotland has confirmed that extensive searches and enquiries are continuing.

Officers have been supported by specialist teams, including the police helicopter, dive and marine unit, police dogs and mountain rescue teams, alongside partner agencies.

Earlier appeals also urged residents to check gardens, sheds, outhouses and other outbuildings in case Tom had sought shelter.

Inspector Kenny MacRobert said police remained extremely concerned for his welfare.

“Tom has now been missing for a week, and we are very concerned for his welfare,” he said.

He appealed to anyone who had been walking or driving in the area during the past week to think carefully about whether they might have seen Tom.

Motorists were specifically asked to check their dashcam footage in case it captured something that could help investigators establish his movements.

Tom’s family has also been appealing for help, sharing photographs and details of what he was wearing when he left home.

His daughter, Gayle, shared a photograph of her father and described his clothing in the hope that someone might recognise him.

He was wearing a white cap with a dark brim, a navy-blue boiler suit, green wellington boots and a green waterproof jacket. He also had a red-collared jacket underneath his overalls.

His niece, Katy, also urged people to continue sharing the appeal, as the family faces another day without knowing where he is.

For those closest to Tom, every possible sighting could be important.

POLICE URGE PUBLIC TO CHECK DASHCAM FOOTAGE

Tom is described as white, approximately 6ft 1in tall, with grey hair.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the Stonehouse and Westmains Farm area on the morning of Friday, October 23, or who may have travelled through the surrounding roads.

Even a brief or seemingly insignificant sighting could help officers piece together his last known movements.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 2759 of October 23.

As the search continues, Tom’s family is left hoping that someone will come forward with information that could finally help bring him home.
