More than 125 dogs have been rescued from appalling living conditions at pet-housing homes in Texas.

More than 125 dogs have been rescued from inhumane captivity in Texas following a months-long rescue operation.
The rescue operation, led by Ferris Animal Services and Flying B Animal Rescue & Sanctuary in Ellis County, resulted in the emergency rescue of the final 75 dogs last week from a kennel in Ellis County, about 40 miles south of Dallas, according to Fox 4.

The rescue operation follows months of efforts to reduce the number of animals in captivity. Reports indicate that other dogs had previously been rescued through voluntary owner surrenders and standard rescue procedures. It is unclear whether anyone has been charged in connection with these rescue efforts.

The situation was so dire that Todd McGehee, manager of Ferris Animal Services, requested assistance from national organizations, including American Humane and RedRover.
“When the burden of their suffering began to overwhelm our local resources, we knew we had to call on the best,” McGehee said. “Partnering with RedRover and American Humane allowed us to turn a desperate situation into a rescue operation.”
