Since the document became public, Nolan’s mother, Christine Wonsley, has strongly challenged the growing narrative that her son was heavily intoxicated. She said a football coach who spoke with Nolan shortly before he disappeared told her he appeared “perfectly fine” and showed no signs of being “sloppy drunk.” She has urged investigators and the public not to treat unverified claims as established fact while the official investigation remains ongoing.

Friends who were with Nolan that day have also offered differing accounts. Some have acknowledged that alcohol was present during the Fourth of July gathering, while maintaining that Nolan appeared normal when they interacted with him. Meanwhile, investigators continue reviewing witness statements alongside physical and forensic evidence to determine what happened during Nolan’s final hours.
