6-year-old girl dies after being left on preschool bus for hours; devastated family demands answers.

6-Year-Old Winter Jones Dies After Allegedly Being Left on Daycare Bus for Hours

A Tennessee family is demanding answers after 6-year-old Winter Jones died after allegedly being left inside a daycare bus for several hours in extreme heat.

According to her family and local reports, Winter was dropped off by her father at Kid University daycare in the morning. She was reportedly supposed to be taken inside the facility but instead remained on the daycare’s bus.

Winter was not discovered until around 3 p.m., after the vehicle had reportedly been sitting outside in temperatures of approximately 97°F (36°C).

Her father said Winter’s internal body temperature had risen to approximately 109°F (42.8°C).

The family also said Winter was autistic and non-verbal, meaning she was unable to call for help or communicate her distress while inside the vehicle.

The circumstances have raised serious questions about daycare transportation and vehicle-checking procedures, particularly how Winter could have remained on the bus for several hours without being noticed.

The Memphis Police Department and Tennessee authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

As of the latest reports, no criminal charges have been announced.

Investigators are expected to examine the daycare’s procedures, the timeline of the bus’s movements, and the actions of those responsible for transporting and supervising the children.

For Winter’s family, the investigation is now focused on finding answers about how their daughter could have been left in the vehicle for so long and whether anything could have been done to prevent the tragedy.

The investigation remains ongoing.
