SEVEN DEAD AFTER TWO HORRIFIC BUS CRASHES STRIKE TURKEY WITHIN HOURS

TURKEY — Seven people were killed and at least 27 others were injured after two separate passenger-bus crashes struck Turkey within hours of one another, leaving emergency crews racing to two devastating scenes.

The first crash happened in Suşehri, Sivas, where a passenger coach overturned and rolled into a steep ravine.

Four people were killed and 10 others injured. Four of the injured were reportedly in serious condition.

The wrecked coach was left overturned in a ditch as emergency crews worked around the vehicle.

Four victims were identified as Funda Durhan, Erva Durhan, Dilek Özcan and Hikmet Cengiz.

Hours later, another passenger bus was involved in a deadly collision in Muğla.

The bus was traveling from Istanbul toward Bodrum when it slammed into the back of a lorry on the Milas-Söke Highway, according to The Sun.

The impact killed the driver, Hamit Torun, and passenger Mustafa Saydam at the scene.

Another passenger, 46-year-old Songül Demir, was seriously injured and rushed to hospital. She later died despite doctors’ efforts.

At least 17 other passengers were injured, with five reportedly in critical condition.

Images from the Muğla crash showed the front of the bus severely crushed after the collision.

Police, firefighters and medical teams were dispatched to the scene, while fire crews worked to rescue passengers who had become trapped inside the vehicle.

The separate crash in Sivas also required a major emergency response as rescuers worked around the overturned coach.

TWO CRASHES, SEVEN LIVES LOST

The incidents were not connected, but their timing produced a devastating toll.

Seven people lost their lives and dozens more were injured across the two crashes.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding each collision.

For the families involved, however, the investigations come after an unimaginable night of loss.

Two journeys across Turkey ended in separate disasters — leaving seven people dead and many others fighting to survive.
