18-YEAR-OLD COLLEGE SOCCER PLAYER FOUND DEAD IN CAR — BOYFRIEND AND HIS MOTHER ARRESTED

The disappearance of 18-year-old Karoline Heintz has ended in a devastating discovery after investigators found her body inside the rear hatch of a vehicle near a public library in California, Pennsylvania.

Karoline, a student and soccer player at PennWest University, had failed to return to campus.

Her family began tracking her location using an AirTag, which led investigators to the area near the library.

At around 12:24 a.m. Thursday, Pennsylvania State Police located her vehicle.

Inside and outside the vehicle, investigators reportedly observed blood evidence.

Then they made the discovery that confirmed the worst fears of her family:

KAROLINE WAS DEAD.

INVESTIGATORS SAY HER BOYFRIEND WAS RESPONSIBLE

Police allege Karoline had met her boyfriend, 18-year-old Royce Moser, outside his father’s home in North Strabane.

According to the criminal complaint, an argument began.

Royce allegedly told Karoline:

“Wait, I have something for you.”

Investigators say he then entered his father’s home, retrieved a large kitchen knife and allegedly stabbed Karoline in the chest.

Police allege he then placed her body inside the rear hatch of her Jeep and drove approximately 16 miles to his mother’s home.

THEN HIS MOTHER WAS ALLEGEDLY INVOLVED

Investigators say Royce’s mother, Rachel Moser, 56, allegedly helped clean the vehicle.

According to police, she allegedly provided Royce with latex gloves and accompanied him back toward the university area.

The vehicle was ultimately left near the public library — with Karoline’s body still inside.

Police later arrested both Royce and Rachel on separate charges.

THE CHARGES

Royce is facing allegations including:

Homicide
Tampering with evidence
Abuse of a corpse
Obstruction of justice

Rachel is facing allegations including:

Hindering apprehension of a fugitive
Tampering with evidence
Abuse of a corpse
Obstruction of justice

Both were denied bail, according to PEOPLE.

PennWest University expressed deep sadness over Karoline’s death and offered condolences to her family, friends and everyone affected by the tragedy.
