ALLISON RAHMANI LAID TO REST — A HEARTBREAKING FAREWELL TO A MOTHER OF FOUR

A Long Island community gathered Sunday to remember Allison Rahmani, the beloved 40-year-old teacher and mother of four who died after her SUV crashed into her family’s backyard pool.

Rahmani lost control of her vehicle at the family’s home in Hewlett, New York, on Aug. 21. The SUV struck a tree and an unoccupied parked car before ending up in the pool. She was removed from the vehicle and taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her cause of death has not been publicly released.

 A HUSBAND’S HEARTBREAKING TRIBUTE

At Sunday’s funeral, her husband, Matthew Rahmani, struggled through an emotional tribute to the woman he had built his life with.

He recited “Eshet Chayil,” or “Woman of Valor,” a traditional Jewish prayer often sung by a groom to his bride.

Matthew remembered Allison as a devoted wife who stood beside him through difficult years, including when the young couple was living paycheck to paycheck.

He also spoke about their four children and promised to continue the work of raising them that Allison had devoted herself to.

 SHE WAS MORE THAN A TEACHER

Allison worked as a math coordinator and educator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway.

Friends and colleagues remembered her extraordinary compassion for children.

One colleague recalled how Allison created a small beauty-salon setup inside her classroom for girls who had lost their mothers, doing their hair each morning so they could feel cared for and normal at school.

Her sister described Allison as “the life of the party” and someone who taught because she genuinely loved children and believed in their potential.

A TRIP THAT NEVER HAPPENED

The tragedy was made even more painful by the timing.

Allison and Matthew had been scheduled to leave for a romantic trip to Paris on the same day she was laid to rest.

Instead, family and friends gathered to say goodbye to a woman remembered for her kindness, devotion and love for her children.

THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the crash. The New York Post has reported that sources close to the investigation believe Allison may have experienced a medical emergency before losing control of the SUV, and police do not currently suspect foul play. That possibility has not been publicly confirmed as a final official cause.

For her family, the investigation may eventually explain what happened behind the wheel. But for the four children she leaves behind, the loss of their mother is already permanent.
