Lindsay Clancy Jury Sends Question to Judge as Deliberations Continue

The jury in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial sent a question to Judge William Sullivan after beginning deliberations, prompting the judge to meet with both sides to determine how it should be addressed.

The judge summoned Clancy’s defense attorney and the prosecutor for a sidebar conference after receiving the jury’s question. The specific content of the question was not immediately disclosed.

Later that same day, the jury requested to examine several pieces of evidence, including the blood-stained knife connected to the case and two bags of prescription medication.

Despite reviewing evidence and continuing their discussions, the jurors had not reached a verdict by the end of August 28, 2026.

The jury was dismissed for the weekend and is scheduled to resume deliberations on Monday, August 31.

The case centers on whether Clancy was criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children. The defense has argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis, while prosecution experts testified that she understood the wrongfulness of her actions and remained capable of controlling her behavior.

Until the jury reaches a verdict, no final determination has been made regarding Clancy’s criminal responsibility.
