But for the family of Lisa Cash, 18, and eight-year-old twins Christy and Chelsea Cawley, the pain has not faded.

On September 4, 2026, relatives and friends marked the fourth anniversary of the siblings’ deaths with emotional tributes, remembering three children whose lives were taken from them far too soon.

Lisa and the twins died at their family home on Rossfield Avenue in Tallaght, Dublin, in the early hours of September 4, 2022.

Their brother, Andy Cash, was later charged with their murders and ultimately pleaded guilty.

He was sentenced in May 2024 to three separate life sentences.

But on the fourth anniversary, the focus was not on the man responsible.

It was on the three siblings who are still desperately missed.

“THESE THREE BEAUTIFUL ANGELS”

One emotional tribute described Lisa, Christy and Chelsea as “three beautiful angels.”

The family member who posted the message remembered watching the twins and Lisa grow from childhood and described them as beautiful, harmless children who would not say a bad word about anyone.

The message also addressed their mother, expressing hope that she would somehow find the strength to continue living with the unimaginable loss.

Another relative wrote simply:

“Lisa, Christy, Chelsea, we will never forget you.”

A friend of Lisa also shared a heartbreaking message, saying that four years without her had not made the loss easier.

The tributes showed that, for those who knew them, the siblings remain present in memories of family life, childhood and friendship.

THE MORNING THAT CHANGED A FAMILY FOREVER

The tragedy unfolded inside the family’s Tallaght home in the early hours of September 4, 2022.

According to evidence later presented in court, Andy Cash had attended a family event earlier that evening before taking a taxi to the Rossfield Avenue property.

The taxi driver waited outside.

Inside the house, the eight-year-old twins were asleep while Lisa was watching Netflix.

Then screaming was heard.

Cash eventually emerged and told the taxi driver to call emergency services.

When Gardaí arrived, they encountered what one detective later described in court as a scene of extreme violence and chaos.

The siblings’ younger brother also managed to escape and raise the alarm.

THE CASE THAT SHOCKED IRELAND

The investigation revealed the extraordinary scale of the violence suffered by the three siblings.

At his sentencing hearing, the Central Criminal Court heard that Cash had inflicted hundreds of stab and slash wounds on his siblings.

His eight-year-old brother Christy was also thrown from a first-floor window.

The details were among the most harrowing evidence presented during the proceedings.

Cash later pleaded guilty to all three murders.

On May 7, 2024, he received three mandatory life sentences.

His lawyer told the court that Cash had been assessed by psychiatrists and a psychologist while in custody and that he wanted to express his regret for his actions and the people he had hurt.

Perhaps the most heartbreaking words came from the victims’ family.

And they spoke about the future the children would never experience.

They would never finish school with their friends.

They would never learn to drive.

They would never grow old, travel the world or build families of their own.

The family said the loss was not only about three lives being taken.

It was about three entire futures disappearing before they had a chance to unfold.
