FOUR FACE MURDER CHARGES — THEN ANOTHER SERIOUS ALLEGATION EMERGES IN THE BABY S CASE

Four adults accused over the death of newborn Baby S are also facing allegations that they took steps to conceal what happened, as a 15-year-old girl separately faces a charge of perverting the course of justice.

The Baby S case has taken another serious turn after prosecutors revealed that the four adults accused of murdering the newborn are also facing additional charges linked to the alleged concealment of the incident.

Andrea Skopova, 20, Peter Horvath Jr, 19, Peter Horvath Sr, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37, are all charged with murder.

They are also charged with causing or allowing the death of a child and perverting the course of justice by allegedly taking steps to conceal the killing.

The case has drawn intense attention in Sheffield, with prosecutors outlining disturbing details during the defendants’ early court appearances.

THE FOUR ADULTS APPEAR TOGETHER

The four adults appeared at Sheffield Crown Court alongside a 15-year-old girl, who cannot legally be named because of her age.

The teenager faces a separate charge of perverting the course of justice. She is not charged with murder.

During the Crown Court hearing, the defendants sat in a glass-fronted dock as members of their families watched from the public gallery.

According to reports, 26 relatives were present, while the defendants were accompanied by seven security guards and two Slovak interpreters.

Skopova and the 15-year-old girl reportedly cried during the proceedings.

Judge Sarah Wright remanded all five defendants in custody and scheduled their next hearing for October 2.

The provisional trial date has been set for April 12, 2027, with the trial expected to last between six and seven weeks.

WHAT HAPPENED TO BABY S?

The newborn girl is known publicly only as Baby S.

She was born on August 30, 2026, and police were called to a property in the Wincobank area of Sheffield after concerns were raised about the safety of an infant.

A post-mortem examination later determined that the baby died from stab wounds.

Prosecutors told the court that Baby S suffered 33 wounds from 15 separate stabbings.

Her body was reportedly found wrapped in a towel inside a blue bag in an outhouse at a property on Holywell Heights.

The court also heard that the baby was found on top of a washing machine.

The four adults are accused not only of causing or allowing the child’s death but also of taking steps to conceal the alleged killing.

THE 15-YEAR-OLD’S ROLE REMAINS LIMITED IN PUBLIC RECORDS

The presence of the 15-year-old defendant has generated additional questions surrounding the case.

However, the court has not publicly detailed exactly what she is alleged to have done.

What is currently known is that she has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Unlike the four adults, she does not face a murder charge.

Because she is under 18, her identity is protected by law, and authorities have urged the public not to speculate about the case or share information online that could interfere with the legal proceedings.

That distinction is important as the case moves toward trial.

THE BABY’S FATHER IS STILL UNKNOWN

Another unresolved detail has also emerged from the court proceedings.

Prosecutor Luke Hopkinson told the court that Baby S’s father is currently unknown.

Andrea Skopova is the baby’s mother and was described as the girlfriend of Peter Horvath Jr.

However, prosecutors said Horvath Jr is not believed to be the baby’s father.

The four adults are all Slovakian nationals, according to prosecutors.

Two other women, aged 26 and 37, were also arrested on suspicion of murder but remain on bail and have not been charged in connection with the case.

A CASE NOW HEADED FOR A MAJOR TRIAL

The allegations against the four adults are serious, but the proceedings remain active.

The Crown Prosecution Service has stressed that bringing charges does not amount to a finding of guilt and that all defendants have the right to a fair trial.

South Yorkshire Police have also urged the public to avoid speculation while investigators and prosecutors continue the case.

For now, many of the most important questions remain unanswered — including exactly what happened inside the Sheffield property, who was responsible for the newborn’s death and what role, if any, each defendant allegedly played afterward.

Those questions are expected to become central when the case returns to court.

The trial is currently scheduled to begin on April 12, 2027.
