NEWBORN BABY FOUND DEAD IN SHEFFIELD OUTBUILDING — FOUR FACE MURDER CHARGES AS 15-YEAR-OLD ALSO APPEARS IN COURT

A newborn baby girl was found dead inside an outbuilding in Sheffield, England, after suffering 33 wounds from 15 separate stabbings, prosecutors told a court.

The baby, known only as Baby S, was discovered at a property on Holywell Heights in the Wincobank area of Sheffield on Sunday, August 30.

Her body was found wrapped in a towel and placed inside a blue bag on top of a washing machine in an outhouse, according to evidence presented at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.

FOUR ADULTS CHARGED

Four Slovakian nationals have been charged with murder in connection with the newborn’s death.

They are Andrea Skopova, 20; Peter Horvath Jr., 19; Peter Horvath Sr., 38; and Nina Horvathova, 37.

All four also face charges of causing or allowing the death of a child and perverting the course of justice.

Prosecutors allege steps were taken to conceal what had happened, including cleaning the scene of the alleged crime.

Skopova is identified in court as Baby S’s mother. Prosecutors said the baby’s father is currently unknown and that Horvath Jr., who was Skopova’s boyfriend, is not believed to be the father.

A 15-YEAR-OLD ALSO FACES A CHARGE

A fifth defendant — a 15-year-old girl — appeared separately in court.

Because of her age, she cannot legally be named.

Unlike the four adults, the teenager has not been charged with murder. She faces a charge of perverting the course of justice and was remanded into youth custody.

The teenager reportedly became emotional during the proceedings and sobbed while the court considered whether she should be released on bail.

Authorities have not publicly disclosed further details about the specific conduct prosecutors allege she carried out.

COURT HEARS DETAILS OF BABY’S INJURIES

The court was told that Baby S suffered 33 wounds from 15 separate stabbings, with injuries to her face and torso, including the front and back of her body.

A post-mortem examination determined that her death was caused by stab wounds.

The circumstances surrounding the newborn’s final hours remain the subject of an ongoing investigation.

Police have also warned against online speculation, stressing the importance of protecting the integrity of the legal proceedings.

TRIAL SET FOR APRIL 2027

All five defendants appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on September 3.

The four adults and the teenager were remanded in custody, with their next hearing scheduled for October 2, 2026.

Judge Sarah Wright provisionally set the trial to begin on April 12, 2027. The trial is expected to last approximately six to seven weeks.

Two other women, aged 26 and 37, who were previously arrested on suspicion of murder remain on bail, according to reports.

Flowers and tributes have since been left near the Sheffield property as the investigation continues.

The defendants have not been convicted, and the allegations against them will be tested in court.
