4-Year-Old Girl Dies in Tragic Farm Accident Just Weeks Before Her Fifth Birthday

A 4-year-old girl has died in a heartbreaking farm accident just weeks before she was due to celebrate her fifth birthday.

Hellayna Michelle “Layna” King was involved in the fatal accident on September 2, 2026, on Red River Road.

According to Clark County Coroner Neal Oliver, Layna fell from a piece of equipment attached to the rear of a tractor. The tractor then backed up and accidentally ran over the young girl, resulting in her death.

Layna was born on October 5, 2021, meaning she was only about a month away from turning five.

Her sudden death has left her family and community devastated as they remember a little girl described as cheerful, loving and full of life.

Family members said Layna loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed singing. She was especially happy when she could help out around the family farm, where she had the opportunity to be close to the people and activities she loved.

What was supposed to be an ordinary day on the farm instead became a devastating tragedy for a family now facing the loss of a child who had so much of her young life ahead of her.

Layna’s loved ones are remembering her not only for the heartbreaking circumstances of her death, but for the joy she brought to those around her. Her bright personality, love of singing and enthusiasm for helping on the farm will remain cherished memories for her family.
