A newly unveiled memorial to Charlie Kirk outside Turning Point USA’s Phoenix headquarters has been vandalized, sparking a police investigation.
Just days after supporters gathered to unveil a bronze statue honoring Charlie Kirk on the first anniversary of his death, the memorial was found covered in red spray paint.
Phoenix police were called at around 9 a.m. Sunday after the 8-foot statue outside Turning Point USA’s headquarters was discovered vandalized.
The statue had been covered with red paint, including paint concentrated around the neck area — the location where Kirk was fatally shot during an event at Utah Valley University in September 2025.
A frowning face had also been painted across the statue’s torso, according to reports.
ANOTHER MEMORIAL WAS ALSO DEFACED
The vandalism did not stop at the statue.
A nearby memorial display was also targeted. Red paint was reportedly used to mark across Kirk’s face, while the word “Jesus” on a nearby memorial message was covered with paint.
The incident happened only days after Turning Point USA unveiled the statue on September 10, 2026, marking one year since Kirk was fatally shot.
The organization had gathered supporters at its Phoenix headquarters to remember its founder and reflect on his legacy.
POLICE ARE NOW SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS
Phoenix police have not announced any suspects or identified who may have carried out the vandalism.
Authorities are investigating the incident and asking anyone with information to come forward.
The timing has drawn particular attention because the memorial had only recently been installed.
Kirk, who co-founded Turning Point USA, was killed at age 31 while speaking at a campus event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. Tyler Robinson, who is accused in the killing, has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and other charges.
A MEMORIAL NOW AT THE CENTER OF A NEW CONTROVERSY
For supporters, the Phoenix statue was intended to preserve Kirk’s memory and symbolize the continuation of the movement he built.
Instead, just days after its unveiling, the memorial became the target of an act of vandalism that police are now trying to solve.
No suspect has been publicly identified, and investigators have not announced a motive.
