NEW CHARLIE KIRK STATUE VANDALIZED JUST DAYS AFTER UNVEILING — RED PAINT SMEARED ACROSS MEMORIAL
THE STATUE WAS SUPPOSED TO HONOR CHARLIE KIRK ONE YEAR AFTER HIS DEATH. INSTEAD, IT BECAME THE TARGET OF AN OVERNIGHT ACT OF VANDALISM.
A newly unveiled memorial statue honoring conservative activist Charlie Kirk has been vandalized outside the Turning Point USA headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona — just days after it was installed to mark the one-year anniversary of his death.
The 8-foot bronze statue was unveiled on September 10, exactly one year after Kirk was fatally shot during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University.
By Sunday morning, the memorial had been defaced with red paint.
THE MEMORIAL WAS SUPPOSED TO MARK A SOMBER ANNIVERSARY
Turning Point USA unveiled the statue at its Phoenix headquarters as supporters gathered to remember Kirk and his influence on the conservative movement.
The statue depicts Kirk in the final period of his life and was intended as a permanent tribute to the organization’s founder.
But the memorial quickly became the scene of a police investigation.
According to reports, red paint was smeared across the statue. A nearby memorial sign was also spray-painted.
Authorities have not identified a suspect.
POLICE ARE NOW INVESTIGATING
Phoenix police are investigating the vandalism and have asked anyone with information to come forward.
Turning Point USA condemned the incident.
The organization had only recently unveiled the statue, meaning the vandalism occurred almost immediately after the tribute was put on public display.
The statue is also expected to be moved indoors for security reasons.
KIRK’S DEATH REMAINS A MAJOR POLITICAL FLASHPOINT
Kirk, who founded Turning Point USA, was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University in Utah.
He was 31.
Tyler Robinson, 23, has been accused in the case and has pleaded not guilty to charges including aggravated murder. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 23.
Kirk’s death sent shockwaves through American conservative politics and transformed him into a major symbol for his supporters.
One year later, his name remains at the center of a deeply polarized political debate.
NOW THE STATUE HAS BECOME PART OF THAT STORY
The vandalism has added another dramatic chapter to the anniversary.
What was unveiled as a symbol of remembrance has instead become the focus of a police investigation — only days after supporters gathered to honor Kirk’s legacy.
For now, authorities are searching for answers as the memorial is expected to receive additional security.
And the question remains:
WHO TARGETED CHARLIE KIRK’S NEW MEMORIAL — AND WHY?
