HE VANISHED WITHOUT HIS PHONE, WALLET OR CAR — DAYS LATER, NEWLYWED DOMINICK BIANCHI WAS FOUND DEAD
Dominick Bianchi, 35, disappeared from his New York home just months after marrying his wife, Julianna Zyra. After days of desperate searching, police confirmed the heartbreaking discovery.
A desperate search for a 35-year-old newlywed in Upstate New York has ended in tragedy.
Dominick Bianchi, of East Greenbush, New York, was found dead in a wooded area nearly a week after he disappeared from his home.
East Greenbush police confirmed the discovery on Sunday evening, September 13, bringing an end to an extensive search that had involved law enforcement agencies, search teams and members of the local community.
HE LEFT HOME — BUT LEFT ALMOST EVERYTHING BEHIND
Bianchi was last seen on the morning of September 8 at his home on Forrest Pointe Drive.
What immediately concerned his family was what he didn’t take with him.
His cellphone, wallet and vehicle were all left behind.
His wife, Julianna Zyra, had also revealed that Bianchi was living with Type 1 diabetes and had been experiencing mental health struggles.
His continuous glucose monitor was connected to the phone he had left at home, and Zyra said she did not know whether he had insulin with him.
The circumstances prompted an urgent search for the newlywed.
Police and other agencies used drones, canine teams and other resources, while members of the public were asked to check properties, vehicles, trail cameras and home surveillance footage for any possible sign of him.
HIS WIFE MADE AN EMOTIONAL PLEA
As the search continued, Zyra publicly pleaded with her husband to come home.
She said she knew he was struggling and wanted him to understand that people cared about him and wanted to help.
Her message was simple: please come home.
The family’s concern was heightened by the fact that Bianchi had recently married Zyra. The couple had tied the knot in May 2026, only months before his disappearance.
THEN CAME THE NEWS EVERYONE FEARED
After days of searching, East Greenbush Police announced that Bianchi had been found deceased in a wooded area.
Police did not immediately disclose the exact location where his body was discovered.
Authorities also said the death was not currently believed to be suspicious, while an autopsy was scheduled to determine the official cause of death.
That means there are still unanswered questions surrounding what happened to him.
HIS FAMILY IS NOW LEFT WITH THE QUESTIONS
Bianchi’s disappearance had drawn widespread attention, with strangers and community members joining the effort to help locate him.
His wife had urged people to focus on bringing him home rather than spreading rumors or speculation.
Now, the search has ended — but the questions remain.
His family is left grieving a man who had only recently begun a new chapter of his life as a husband.
For those who followed the search, the heartbreaking ending is a reminder that behind every missing-person alert is a family desperately waiting for one thing:
the person they love to come home.
