The parents of a baby girl with facial differences have hit back after vicious online trolls branded her a ‘monster’ and said she should be ‘taken away’.

Baby Bataya, 1, was born with spina bifida and two rare syndromes, Pfeiffer syndrome and Antley-Bixler syndrome.

Early in the pregnancy, doctors did not believe Bataya would survive, but the little girl defied the odds.

Her family now faces cruel threats and hateful comments – simply because of her appearance.

Now her parents are speaking publicly about the hatred they have received.

“They told us we should get rid of her,” her father, Naffi Goldman, told Expressen.

Bataya was born with two very rare conditions, Pfeiffer syndrome and Antley-Bixler syndrome. She also has spina bifida, is deaf, blind and needs breathing support.

Her parents, who live in Manchester, UK, have spoken openly about the cruelty directed at their family because of their daughter’s appearance.

At first, doctors did not believe Bataya would survive. At birth, she experienced severe breathing difficulties. But tiny Bataya overcame every challenge and survived.

“Her head is larger than normal and her eyes are very prominent. We immediately realised that her spine was not straight. We understood that the future would be very complicated for us,” her father, Naffi Goldman, told Expressen.

The love her parents have for their newborn daughter is immense. But the family was not prepared for the cruelty they would face after sharing photos of their daughter online. They received countless hateful comments. Bataya was called a monster and subjected to many other hurtful remarks. The family even received disturbing threats.

One comment read:

“Do you really think keeping a child like this alive is right?”

Bataya’s parents were not prepared to encounter so much hatred directed toward their beloved daughter. They cannot understand how anyone could have so much cruelty.

– They told us we should get rid of her. The comments they make are terrible, and they break our hearts, they told the newspaper.

People with disabilities are often more vulnerable to abuse, violence, and threats. When DHR, the Association for a Society Without Disabilities, conducted a study, 29 percent of respondents said they had experienced humiliation and mistreatment more than once a year.
