URGENT HUNT FOR MISSING 10-YEAR-OLD BOY WHO VANISHED FROM UK TOWN — POLICE “INCREASINGLY CONCERNED”
Police have launched an urgent search for a 10-year-old boy who has been missing from a UK market town for two days, with officers appealing to the public for information that could help bring him home.
The youngster, known as Dougie, was last seen in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, on Tuesday evening, Sept. 15, according to Hertfordshire Police.
Officers said they are becoming “increasingly concerned” about the boy’s welfare and are urging anyone who may have seen him to contact police immediately.
POLICE RELEASE DESCRIPTION OF DOUGIE
Hertfordshire Police described Dougie as being of short and stocky build, with dark brown hair.
Police also highlighted a distinctive detail that could help members of the public recognize him — Dougie often wears gold jewellery.
Authorities have appealed to anyone who may have information about his whereabouts or may have seen him since Tuesday evening to come forward.
“If you believe you are with Dougie now or have seen him in the last few moments, please call 999 immediately,” police said.
The force provided the reference ISR 589 of 16 September 2026 for information relating to the investigation.
POLICE ASK THE PUBLIC TO KEEP SHARING THE APPEAL
The search comes as concern grows for the missing schoolboy.
Hertfordshire Police thanked members of the public who have already shared Dougie’s appeal and stressed that officers remain focused on locating him.
Police also acknowledged that people may be particularly concerned because of other recent missing-person cases, but emphasized that every missing-person investigation is different and that enquiries are tailored to the individual circumstances.
“We remain focused on finding Dougie and are grateful for the public’s continued support,” the force said.
ANY INFORMATION COULD HELP
Authorities are asking people to think carefully about anything they may have seen around Hoddesdon since Dougie was last seen.
Even information that may appear insignificant could potentially help investigators establish his movements.
Police have urged the public to continue sharing the official appeal rather than speculating about what may have happened.
For Dougie’s family, the priority remains simple: finding the 10-year-old and bringing him home safely.
As the search continues, police are asking anyone who has seen Dougie or has information about where he may be to contact them without delay.
