POLICE ISSUE DEEPLY WORRYING UPDATE AS SEARCH FOR 3-YEAR-OLD NOAH TAKES A HEARTBREAKING TURN

The desperate search for three-year-old Noah Woods took a devastating turn after police revealed a major development in the investigation.

Noah disappeared in Brantham, Suffolk, on Tuesday, September 15, after becoming separated from a relative following a visit to a playground on Merriam Close.

His disappearance triggered a huge community search, with emergency services and more than 1,300 members of the public joining the effort to find him.

POLICE RELEASED A WORRYING UPDATE

As the search continued into Wednesday, Suffolk Police confirmed that specialist teams were focusing on areas around Decoy Pond, close to where Noah was last seen.

Police had earlier confirmed CCTV footage showing Noah at approximately 2:37 p.m. on Tuesday.

He was seen running down an alleyway beside the playground toward a nearby new-build housing estate and the area around Decoy Pond.

Noah was described as non-verbal and partially hearing impaired, meaning he might not respond if people called his name.

Police, coastguard crews, firefighters, search-and-rescue teams and specialist officers continued working through the night.

HIS FATHER MADE A DESPERATE PLEA

As the search entered another day, Noah’s father, Rhys Woods, made an emotional appeal to everyone helping to find his little boy.

He said he could not face another night knowing his son might still be out there alone.

The message reflected the desperation felt by a family waiting for any sign that Noah could be brought home safely.

Hundreds of volunteers responded.

Some travelled from outside the area to join the search, while local residents searched streets, gardens and surrounding areas.

 THE SEARCH ENDED IN TRAGEDY

Later on Wednesday, September 16, Suffolk Police announced that Metropolitan Police dive officers had recovered the body of a child from Decoy Pond.

At that stage, formal identification had not yet taken place, but Noah’s family was informed of the discovery.

Police said the circumstances were being treated as not suspicious but unexplained.

On Thursday, September 17, police formally confirmed that the child was Noah Woods, aged three.

Suffolk Police said his death was not being treated as suspicious, although officers still had enquiries to complete before submitting a file to the Coroner.

 “THE SWEETEST AND MOST INNOCENT LITTLE BOY”

Following the devastating confirmation, Noah’s father paid tribute to his son.

Rhys described Noah as “the sweetest and most innocent little boy”, saying he had “nothing but love to give.”

He also thanked the enormous number of people who had joined the search.

More than 1,000 volunteers — with police putting the wider public response at around 1,300 people — had come together in the hope of finding the little boy.

Tributes were later placed near the playground where Noah was last seen, including flowers, teddy bears and Bluey items.

The community that had spent hours searching for a safe return was left mourning instead.

For Noah’s family, the desperate question of where their little boy was ended with the news no parent ever wants to hear.
