MORE THAN 1,000 PEOPLE RALLY AROUND CANNON HALL FARM’S RUTH AND HER FAMILY

BARNSLEY, ENGLAND — More than 1,000 people have come together to support Farmer Ruth and her family after her husband, Dave, was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer.

A fundraising campaign created to support the family has now received 1,021 donations and raised £19,843 toward a £24,000 goal, according to the latest listing.

The campaign was launched in July by supporters who wanted to help Ruth, Dave and their two sons during an exceptionally difficult period.

A COMMUNITY STANDS WITH RUTH

Ruth is a familiar face to many people who follow Cannon Hall Farm, whether through visits to the Yorkshire attraction or its social media content.

The fundraising appeal says supporters wanted to give the family practical and financial support while they focus on spending time together and making memories.

“Every donation, every share and every message of support will mean something,” the organizers wrote in the appeal.

The campaign has attracted contributions from people who know the family personally as well as followers who have come to know Ruth through her work at the farm.

With more than 1,000 donations already recorded, the response has become a powerful show of support for the family.

DAVE CONTINUES TREATMENT

According to the fundraising appeal, Dave is undergoing intensive treatment, including daily chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

The family is facing considerable uncertainty, while Ruth continues to care for her husband and their two sons.

In a recent update, Ruth thanked supporters for their messages and donations, describing the response as deeply meaningful during such a difficult time.

The fundraiser is intended to give the family flexibility to use the money in whatever way helps them most in the months ahead.

While Ruth and her family navigate the difficult situation privately, Cannon Hall Farm continues welcoming visitors.

The farm’s official events calendar lists a number of upcoming activities, including a live podcast event on September 20 and a Falconry Weekend scheduled for September 26–27. The Pumpkin Patch is also scheduled throughout October.

For many visitors, the farm remains a familiar place filled with animals, family activities and the people they have come to know over the years.
