‘BELOW DECK MEDITERRANEAN’ STAR NATHAN GALLAGHER FACES DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CHARGES IN AUSTRALIA
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — A legal case involving Below Deck Mediterranean star Nathan Gallagher has come to light months after his arrest in Australia, placing the reality TV personality under renewed scrutiny.
Gallagher, 27, was arrested by New South Wales police on December 27, 2025, following an alleged assault involving a 29-year-old woman at an apartment complex in the Sydney area. Police said the woman did not suffer serious injuries.
According to New South Wales Police, Gallagher was charged with three offenses: assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent, and common assault.
ARREST CAME DAYS AFTER THE ALLEGED INCIDENT
Police allege the incident occurred on December 26, one day before Gallagher was taken into custody at a unit complex in Melrose Park.
He was initially refused bail before appearing in court the following day, when he was granted conditional bail.
His next court appearance is scheduled for September 1, 2026, at Burwood Local Court. It is not currently clear how Gallagher has pleaded to the charges.
A SEPARATE COURT APPLICATION INVOLVES GAEL CAMERON
The case has drawn additional attention because Gallagher is also the subject of an Apprehended Violence Application filed in New South Wales on behalf of fellow Below Deck Mediterranean cast member Gael Cameron, according to court documents reported by multiple outlets.
An Apprehended Violence Order, or AVO, is a legal measure designed to protect a person who fears violence, intimidation, harassment or stalking.
A hearing related to that application is also scheduled for September 1.
Cameron and Gallagher met while filming Below Deck Mediterranean and later began a relationship. The pair welcomed their son, Kayden, in June 2025.
Neither Gallagher nor Cameron has publicly addressed the allegations, and Bravo has not publicly commented on the case.
THE STORY IS UNFOLDING WHILE HE APPEARS ON TELEVISION
The timing has made the situation particularly striking for viewers.
Gallagher is currently appearing on the latest season of Below Deck Mediterranean, with the show featuring his work aboard a luxury yacht as well as aspects of his personal life.
The season was filmed before the details of the arrest became public.
That means viewers are watching footage of Gallagher’s life from a period before the legal allegations were widely known.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
For now, the legal proceedings remain unresolved.
Gallagher has been granted conditional bail, and the allegations have not been proven in court. The September 1 hearing could provide further information about both the criminal charges and the separate violence-protection application.
The case has also raised difficult questions about how much of a reality star’s private life can remain hidden while their on-screen persona continues to be broadcast to millions of viewers.
For Gallagher, the next court appearance could become a pivotal moment.
The television drama may be playing out on screen — but the most serious chapter of this story is now unfolding in court. ⚖️
Gallagher is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. The allegations reported here have not been established as facts.
