New details have emerged following the tragic death of Allison Rahmani, the 40-year-old Long Island teacher and mother of four whose SUV plunged into a backyard swimming pool.

Rahmani lost control of her vehicle on August 21 in Hewlett, Nassau County. The SUV struck a tree and an unoccupied parked car before entering the family’s inground pool. She was removed from the vehicle and taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The tragedy came just days after Allison celebrated her 40th birthday and on the day she and her husband had planned to leave for a trip to Paris.
