Canadian Mother of Two Killed When Plane Crashes Into Her Car During Emergency Landing

A Canadian mother of two was killed after a small aircraft lost engine power and struck her vehicle during an emergency landing.

The victim was identified as Alex Garneau, who was inside her car with her daughter, Josie, on August 20, 2026.

The aircraft, a Sekani Air Beech King Air 200, reportedly experienced an engine power loss and was forced to make an emergency landing on Foothills Boulevard. During the landing, the plane collided with four vehicles, including Garneau’s car.

Garneau died in the crash, while her daughter survived. The other eight people aboard the aircraft, including two pilots and six passengers, were reportedly uninjured.

The tragedy has left Garneau’s family and community grieving the sudden loss of a mother who was traveling with her daughter when the unexpected crash occurred.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is investigating the incident to determine why the aircraft lost engine power and how the emergency landing unfolded.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not yet released a final determination regarding the cause of the aircraft’s mechanical failure.
