GRANDFATHER FACES UP TO 20 YEARS AFTER FATAL BARNEGAT BAY BOAT CRASH

BARNEGAT BAY, N.J. — A New Jersey grandfather is facing the possibility of decades behind bars after prosecutors formally charged him in connection with a boat crash that claimed the lives of his two grandchildren.

Stephen Schneider, 64, has been charged with two counts of second-degree reckless vessel homicide, along with boating under the influence and careless operation of a vessel, according to court records.

The charges stem from a tragic incident on Barnegat Bay that resulted in the deaths of Schneider’s daughter’s two children.
