NEW DETAILS REVEALED AFTER MISSING GRANDMOTHER OF FIVE IS FOUND DEAD NEAR LAS VEGAS AIRPORT

LAS VEGAS — New details have emerged in the disappearance of Alisa Goods, a 63-year-old grandmother of five from New York who was found dead in a drainage ditch near Harry Reid International Airport nearly two weeks after she vanished.

Goods disappeared on Aug. 8, 2026, while visiting a longtime friend in Las Vegas. She had reportedly left the friend’s home to run an errand and planned to visit a CVS, but she never returned. Her family reported her missing two days later.

SURVEILLANCE VIDEO MAY SHOW HER FINAL MOMENTS

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, investigators reviewed surveillance footage from the day Goods disappeared.

The video showed Goods falling down an embankment, getting back up and then collapsing again near the airport. Police said there was no further movement visible after that.

Her location could not be seen from the nearby street, potentially explaining why she remained undiscovered for days despite being close to a heavily traveled airport area.

BODY FOUND NEAR TERMINAL 1

Goods’ body was discovered on Aug. 20, about 12 days after she disappeared.

Police said a caller reported finding a deceased woman in a drainage ditch near Wayne Newton Boulevard and the Terminal 1 parking garage. Officers responded and identified the woman as Goods.

A homeless man reportedly discovered her in the area and alerted airport personnel, according to reports.

MYSTERIOUS TEXTS DEEPENED THE FAMILY’S FEARS

During the search, Goods’ relatives said they began receiving strange messages from her cellphone.

The messages reportedly asked for help, gas money and Bitcoin. The requests alarmed the family, particularly because Goods did not drive.

Her relatives initially feared that someone else could have been using her phone or that she may have been in danger.

Authorities have continued examining the circumstances surrounding the messages, but the messages alone have not established what happened to Goods.

FAMILY HAD BEEN DESPERATELY SEARCHING

Goods’ daughter and niece joined the search after she disappeared, while other relatives traveled from New York to Las Vegas looking for answers.

The family contacted hospitals and other facilities and distributed information about her disappearance.

After learning that Goods had been found, her niece Alana Calloway described the news as devastating and thanked members of the public and media who helped bring attention to the case. The family has asked for privacy as they mourn.

CAUSE OF DEATH HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED

Despite the surveillance footage, important questions remain unanswered.

Authorities have not publicly released a cause or manner of death. Investigators also have not fully explained why Goods ended up near the airport or what happened between the time she left her friend’s home and the moment captured on surveillance video.
