Four Killed in Highway 2 Crash Near Wrightwood as Three Victims Identified

Four people were killed and two others seriously injured after a vehicle carrying six occupants crashed early Friday morning on Highway 2, also known as Angeles Crest Highway, near Wrightwood, California.

The crash occurred on September 4, 2026, when a 2016 Hyundai Veloster reportedly veered off the roadway, struck a utility pole and rolled down a steep slope.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, where four occupants were pronounced dead. Two others survived but suffered serious injuries and were taken for medical treatment.

Three Victims Identified

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified three of the four people who died as:

• Jason Potter, 19
• Nevaeh Harper, 20
• Rebekah Cabral-Gonzalez, 21

The identity of the fourth victim has not yet been released.

Alcohol and Seat Belts Under Investigation

Authorities said alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash. Investigators also reported that many of the occupants were not wearing seat belts.

Officials have not yet determined the exact cause of the collision, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The deadly crash has left families and the local community mourning as investigators work to establish what happened in the moments before the Hyundai left the roadway.
