BABY S’S BODY WAS HIDDEN AFTER HER DEATH — BUT WHERE POLICE FOUND THE NEWBORN HAS BECOME ONE OF THE MOST DISTURBING DETAILS OF THE CASE

A newborn baby girl was allegedly stabbed repeatedly — and then her body was found outside the main house, on top of a washing machine inside an outhouse.

The discovery has become one of the most haunting details in the Sheffield case.

Baby S was found at a property in the Wincobank area of Sheffield after emergency services were called over concerns for her safety.

When officers arrived, they discovered the newborn had died.

A forensic postmortem later established that her cause of death was stab wounds.

33 INJURIES — 15 SEPARATE STABBINGS

At a subsequent court hearing, prosecutors told the court that Baby S had suffered 33 injuries, including 15 separate stabbings.

The wounds were reportedly to her face and torso.

The baby had allegedly been wrapped in a towel and placed inside a blue bag before being left on top of the washing machine in the outhouse.

It is a detail that has left the public asking a chilling question:

Why was a newborn baby taken outside the main house and concealed there?

That question is now part of a much larger investigation.

FOUR ADULTS FACE MURDER CHARGES

Andrea Skopova, 20, who prosecutors identify as Baby S’s mother, is charged alongside Peter Horvath Jr, 19, Peter Horvath Sr, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37.

All four face murder charges.

They are also accused of causing or allowing the death of a child and of attempting to pervert the course of justice, including allegations concerning the cleaning of the scene.

A 15-year-old girl has separately been charged with perverting the course of justice. Her identity is protected because of her age.

All defendants have been remanded in custody.

THE CASE IS FAR FROM OVER

The four adults are due to stand trial at Sheffield Crown Court, with the trial scheduled to begin on April 12, 2027 and expected to last six to seven weeks.

Police have also recovered a potential weapon and are examining CCTV as investigators continue to reconstruct what happened.

For now, the most disturbing questions remain unanswered.

How did a newborn come to suffer so many injuries?

Why was her body allegedly wrapped, placed inside a bag and left in an outhouse?

And what happened inside that Sheffield property before police arrived?

Those questions will ultimately have to be answered in court.

For now, the allegations remain just that — allegations, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
