A 53-year-old single mother has vanished from Washington, D.C., leaving behind her phone, keys, purse, wallet and beloved dog — while her car remained parked outside her home.

Antoinette Forbes has been missing since Friday, September 4, 2026, and her family says the circumstances are completely out of character.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Forbes was last seen at around 3 p.m. in the 3200 block of Nebraska Avenue NW, near Foxhall Road.

Nearly a week later, authorities were still investigating her disappearance.

And the details surrounding the case have left her loved ones deeply concerned.

THE LAST TIME HER SISTER HEARD FROM HER

Antoinette’s sister, Aileen Forbes, said she last spoke with Antoinette on the morning of Saturday, September 5.

The conversation reportedly appeared completely normal.

The sisters were discussing and making plans for Christmas — plans they expected to continue finalizing.

Then Antoinette stopped responding.

Aileen became increasingly worried when her sister failed to answer subsequent messages.

She told local media that the two women were extremely close.

“We’re practically twins,” Aileen said, describing them as best friends.

She added that there was no way she believed Antoinette would simply leave without contacting her family.

THEN A FRIEND WENT TO HER HOME

As the silence continued, a friend went to Antoinette’s home to check on her.

What they found only deepened the mystery.

According to reports, Antoinette’s phones, keys, purse and wallet were still inside the house.

Authorities describe her as approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall and 115 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Her clothing at the time she disappeared has not been publicly identified.
