Presley Gerber, the model and only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27.
Gerber died on Sunday, September 20, at a rehabilitation facility, according to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. His death was confirmed by a representative for his family.
The cause of death has not been disclosed. An autopsy has not yet been completed, meaning no official cause has been established at this time.
A representative for Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber and Presley’s younger sister, model and actress Kaia Gerber, asked for privacy as the family mourns.
“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” the representative said.
THE ONLY SON OF CINDY CRAWFORD
Born in California in 1999, Presley was the eldest child and only son of Crawford and Rande Gerber.
His younger sister, Kaia Gerber, followed their mother into the fashion industry and established her own career as a model and actress.
Presley also entered modeling as a teenager. He was signed by IMG Models at 15 and made his runway debut for Moschino in 2016. He later worked with major fashion names including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger.
He also appeared alongside his famous mother in an updated version of her iconic Pepsi campaign during the 2018 Super Bowl.
PRESLEY HAD SPOKEN OPENLY ABOUT HIS STRUGGLES
In recent years, Gerber had become increasingly open about his experiences with mental health and substance use.
He launched a series of social-media videos known as “Mental Health Mondays,” in which he discussed his own experiences and encouraged others to speak about difficulties they might otherwise keep private.
During a 2023 podcast appearance, Gerber spoke about his experiences with depression and mental health and said he hoped sharing his story could help other people who were struggling.
His family had also publicly supported him during periods of recovery.
In March 2026, Gerber shared an Instagram post about undergoing ibogaine treatment and described his hopes for making changes in his life. His mother, father and sister publicly expressed their support in the comments.
His sister Kaia also discussed the impact of her brother’s long-term struggles in a recent Vogue interview.
A FAMILY ASKING FOR PRIVACY
News of Presley’s death comes after he was photographed with his family earlier this year.
Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber had continued to support their son publicly, while Presley had used his own platform to talk about recovery, mental health and the challenges he had faced.
Now, the family is asking for privacy as they come to terms with his death.
No official cause of death has been announced, and the medical examiner’s investigation remains ongoing.
Presley Gerber was 27.
