PRESLEY GERBER DIES AT 27 AS CINDY CRAWFORD’S SON’S DEATH IS INVESTIGATED AS SUSPECTED OVERDOSE

Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27.

The model died on September 20, 2026, at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, California, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records.

His death is now being investigated by Santa Monica Police as a suspected overdose, although authorities have stressed that his official cause and manner of death have not yet been established.

PRESLEY DIED AT A REHABILITATION FACILITY

Police responded to the Santa Monica facility on the morning of September 20 following reports involving a possible overdose and cardiac arrest.

Gerber was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

An autopsy was performed the following day, but the Medical Examiner deferred determining the cause and manner of death while additional testing and studies are carried out.

Officials said those tests could take several months to complete.

Police have said there is no indication of foul play at this time.

HIS FAMILY ASKS FOR PRIVACY

News of Presley’s death was confirmed by a representative for Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber and his younger sister, model and actress Kaia Gerber.

The family said they were asking for privacy as they cope with the loss.

Presley was the only son of Crawford and Gerber and the older brother of Kaia.

The family had remained close, with Crawford publicly celebrating her son’s 27th birthday in July, describing how proud she was of the man he had become.

PRESLEY BUILT HIS OWN CAREER IN FASHION

Born in California in 1999, Presley followed his mother into the fashion world.

He was signed by IMG Models at 15 and made his runway debut as a teenager.

Over the years, he worked with major fashion names including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Celine, Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren.

He also appeared in campaigns and fashion publications and once shared the screen with his mother in a Pepsi Super Bowl commercial.

But beyond modelling, Presley increasingly used his public platform to talk about struggles that were far more personal.

HE SPOKE OPENLY ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH AND RECOVERY

In recent years, Presley had spoken publicly about his experiences with depression, mental health difficulties and substance abuse.

He launched a social-media series known as “Mental Health Mondays,” encouraging people to speak openly about problems that are often kept private.

During a 2023 podcast appearance, he discussed his own experiences and said he hoped sharing what he had learned could help other people avoid some of the mistakes he had made.

His sister Kaia also spoke about her brother’s struggles in a 2026 interview with Vogue, describing the impact his difficulties had on their family.

INVESTIGATORS ARE STILL WAITING FOR ANSWERS

Although police are investigating Presley’s death as a suspected overdose, authorities have not yet confirmed what substance, if any, caused his death.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has said the case remains under investigation and that toxicology and additional studies are needed before a final determination can be made.

Law enforcement sources have also reported that investigators are looking into where any drugs involved may have come from, but the investigation remains at an early stage.

For now, Presley’s family is mourning the loss of a 27-year-old son and brother whose career in fashion was accompanied in recent years by a very public effort to talk about recovery and mental health.

His official cause of death remains pending.
