GIRL, 4, DIES AFTER BEING FOUND UPSIDE DOWN IN WATER-FILLED BIN AT GEORGIA HOME

A four-year-old Georgia girl has died after she was found unresponsive inside a large container filled with water and fish at her family’s home.

Jayde Wooten was discovered inside a bathroom at the family’s home in Macon, Georgia, on September 19, according to an incident report and local authorities.

The heartbreaking discovery prompted an urgent rescue effort involving family members, neighbors, deputies, firefighters and paramedics.

FATHER SEARCHED THE HOME AFTER REALIZING JAYDE WAS MISSING

According to the incident report, Jayde’s father, Maleek, had just returned home when he realized his daughter was not in her bedroom.

He searched throughout the house and also asked neighbors if they had seen the little girl.

Jayde’s mother, Jorden, reportedly told investigators that she had fallen asleep while Jayde was eating in the kitchen.

As the search continued, Maleek heard his wife scream.

He rushed back inside and found Jayde upside down inside a large trash can containing water and fish in a bathroom, according to the report.

Maleek pulled his daughter from the container and carried her outside to seek help.

NEIGHBORS TRIED TO SAVE THE LITTLE GIRL

Neighbors immediately joined the effort to save Jayde.

One neighbor told deputies that she and another resident took turns performing CPR on the child after Jayde’s mother came outside seeking assistance.

Deputies were called to the home on the 1200 block of Rocky Creek Road shortly before 2 p.m. on September 19.

When officers arrived, they continued providing emergency aid until firefighters and paramedics took over.

Jayde was transported to a local medical facility, where she was later pronounced dead.

INVESTIGATION INTO JAYDE’S DEATH CONTINUES

The circumstances surrounding Jayde’s death remain under investigation.

Authorities have not publicly released a final cause of death, and an autopsy was still pending according to a report citing the Macon-Bibb County Coroner’s Office.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has not announced any criminal charges in connection with the case.

The available reports also do not establish exactly how Jayde came to be inside the water-filled container.

FAMILY FACES “UNIMAGINABLE GRIEF”

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been established to help Jayde’s parents with funeral expenses and other costs following the tragedy.

The fundraiser described the family as facing “unimaginable grief” and said they need time and support as they mourn their daughter.

Jayde’s death has left a family and community struggling to understand how the tragedy happened.

For now, investigators continue working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the four-year-old’s final moments.
