CHAD LOWE’S 13-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER FIONA DIES — FAMILY REMEMBERS HER AS “THE LIGHT OF OUR LIVES”

Actor Chad Lowe and his wife, producer Kim Painter, are mourning the devastating loss of their 13-year-old daughter, Fiona.

Fiona died on September 29, 2026, after being taken to a local hospital. According to information from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office reported by PEOPLE, her death was ruled a suicide.

The family had initially announced Fiona’s death without disclosing a cause, asking for privacy as they faced the unimaginable loss of their daughter.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Chad and Kim described Fiona as a loving, intelligent and creative young girl who loved to dance.

“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the family said. “In fact, she was the light of our lives.”

“Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”

A GIRL WHO LOVED TO DANCE

Fiona was the middle of Chad and Kim’s three daughters.

She was born in November 2012 and was 13 years old at the time of her death. Her sisters are Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.

People who knew Fiona described her as sweet, quiet and kind, while her family remembered her creativity and passion for dance.

A source told PEOPLE that dance was Fiona’s biggest passion and described her as having an “artistic soul.”

Her middle school also notified parents following her death, with the school making counselors available to students and staff who were struggling with the loss.

Fiona was remembered as a well-liked student with many friends.

HER FATHER’S LAST BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE

Chad had publicly celebrated Fiona becoming a teenager in November 2025.

Sharing a photograph of his daughter, he wrote an affectionate birthday message and encouraged her to “keep dancing through life.”

The post offered a glimpse into the close relationship between the actor and his daughter.

Chad, 58, is known for his work as an actor, director and producer and is the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe.

He and Kim Painter have been married since 2010.
