ROYAL FAMILY GP FOUND DEAD AT HOME DURING CHILDREN’S SLEEPOVER — HUSBAND CHARGED WITH MURDER AS QUIET VILLAGE IS LEFT IN SHOCK

Dr Hannah Terry, 45, was found dead at her home near the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. Her husband has now been charged with her murder as colleagues and patients remember a doctor described as warm, caring and deeply devoted to her family.

A respected mother-of-three who was reportedly part of a group of doctors available to members of the Royal Family has died in a tragedy that has shocked a quiet Norfolk community.

Dr Hannah Terry, 45, was found dead at her home in Fern Hill, Dersingham, in the early hours of Sunday, October 4.

Her death has since become the centre of a murder investigation.

On Tuesday, Norfolk Police confirmed that 45-year-old Mark Cain, who lived at the same address, had been charged with Hannah’s murder.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, October 7.

Emergency services were called to the family home shortly after 2.20am on Sunday after being alerted by the ambulance service.

Officers arrived at the property and found a woman in her 40s.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police immediately launched a murder investigation and arrested a man in his 40s.

The home, located just over a mile from Sandringham House, was subsequently sealed off while forensic investigators examined the property.

Reports said children had been staying at the property for a sleepover that night. The children were taken away from the house and placed in the care of others.

THE DOCTOR WHO WAS REPORTEDLY AVAILABLE TO THE ROYALS

Hannah was a highly experienced GP who had worked in the Norfolk area for years.

According to The Sun, she had been part of a pool of doctors regularly available to members of the Royal Family when they were staying at nearby Sandringham.

The newspaper reported that she was believed to have treated senior royals, including Queen Camilla.

The reported royal connection has not been independently confirmed by Norfolk Police or the Crown Prosecution Service.

Hannah later worked at Grimston Medical Centre in King’s Lynn.

Following her death, the practice temporarily closed, describing the circumstances as extremely difficult for its team.

News of Hannah’s death has devastated the people who knew her professionally.

Colleagues and patients described her as warm-hearted, compassionate and someone who genuinely listened.

Flowers were left outside Grimston Medical Centre as people struggled to process the news.

One patient described Hannah as a doctor who never rushed appointments and always took the time to listen.

A local colleague also remembered her as intelligent, pleasant and a wonderful doctor.

For many patients, Hannah was not simply the person they saw when they were unwell.

She was someone they trusted.

 A MOTHER OF THREE

Away from medicine, Hannah was a mother of three children.

Neighbours described the children as lovely and recalled seeing them playing around the family home.

The tragedy has therefore left not only a medical community grieving, but a family facing an unimaginable loss.

Hannah’s relatives are being supported by specially trained officers and have asked for privacy during this difficult time.

 HER HUSBAND HAS BEEN CHARGED

Mark Cain, 45, has now been formally charged with Hannah’s murder.

However, the criminal proceedings are only beginning.

A charge is an allegation, and Cain has the right to a fair trial. No finding of guilt has been made.

Norfolk Police also confirmed that a post-mortem examination took place on October 5, but the cause of Hannah’s death remains pending further investigation.

 A VILLAGE STRUGGLING TO UNDERSTAND

Dersingham is a community closely associated with Sandringham and the Royal Family.

Residents have described their shock at seeing police and forensic teams descend on a normally quiet residential street.

For those who knew Hannah, the questions are now difficult to escape.

How could a respected GP, devoted mother and familiar face in the community suddenly be gone?

And what happened inside the family home during those early hours of October 4?

Those questions remain at the heart of the investigation.

 REMEMBERING DR HANNAH TERRY

Behind the police investigation is a woman remembered by patients and colleagues for the care she gave to others.

She was a doctor.

A mother.

A wife.

A neighbour.

And, to many patients, someone who made them feel heard when they needed help most.

Now her family is grieving while the legal process begins.

For those who knew Dr Hannah Terry, the hope is that amid the headlines and investigation, she will be remembered first for the life she lived — and the many people she cared for.
