In 2024, he and Brant Hysell set a speed record on Yosemite’s Lurking Fear route on El Capitan, completing the climb in 2 hours, 55 minutes and 32 seconds.

Earlier this year, Whisenant and Noah Fox also climbed El Capitan’s Nose route twice in a single day, completing both ascents in 14 hours and 38 minutes.
