Sandra Bullock is sharing her parenting wisdom.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, Sept. 8, Bullock, 62, opened up about her children, Louis, 16, and Laila, 13, whom she adopted in her late forties.

Bullock quipped to Fallon that she was “in it to win it,” with two teenagers in the house. And when Fallon — who is the father of two daughters, Winnie, 13, and Frances, 11, — asked for advice on parenting teens, she simply replied, “I’m sorry,” to laughs from the studio audience.

Bullock went on to note that it’s impossible to offer other parents advice, as “everyone’s got unique kids.”

“I have a beautiful 16-year-old boy who’s all things basketball and fashion,” she shared, going on to joke that Laila is a “government hacker.”

Bullock went on to note that her kids actually make a cameo in her new movie, Practical Magic 2.

The Speed star clarified to Fallon, 51, that their appearances are “in voice and in spirit.”

She explained that their voices are included in a scene where her character, Massachusetts witch Sally Owens, has “cut herself off” from her magic as she believed it brought “too much tragedy.”

When her character’s magic is “unblocked,” the first thing she hears is the voice of her babies. “The first thing I hear, always, are my babies,” Bullock explains of her real-life motivation for their inclusion in the scene. “You always hear your babies, so let’s chronologically play my kids as much as we can up to a certain age.”

“That’s so cute, I love that,” the talk show host told the actress of the sweet moment.

During a recent sit-down with her longtime pal Jennifer Aniston for Interview Magazine, Bullock also spoke about motherhood and shared her simple rule when it comes to balancing work and her career.

“If the kids can’t be with me, I’m not going,” Bullock stated of movie projects. “The older they get, the bigger their schedules. And their schedules are more important than me telling a story, period.”

She continued, “Unless the kids are with me, I’m lost, and I have to figure that out too because kids always have to leave. Louis is going to leave soon.”

Earlier this month, Bullock shared that Laila thinks the Oscar winner should start dating again — but noted that she has certain rules in place for the person her mom picks.

“She said I needed to date, but only, someone where they can get stuff,” Bullock quipped on the Sept. 3 episode of Kylie Kelce‘s Not Gonna Lie podcast, before clarifying, “So I said, ‘A rapper, a basketball player? That’s the parameters? Like, what is it?’ She’s like, ‘Yeah.’ ”

Later in the podcast episode, Bullock noted that her daughter is famous for being “brutal” with her comments, including one incident where she told her mom she should “put a filter” on her camera while on Zoom!

Bullock was previously in a long-term relationship with photographer Bryan Randall, who died in August 2023 at the age of 57 after a private battle with ALS.

The actress and Randall co-parented Louis and Laila, as well as Randall’s daughter from a previous relationship, Skylar Staten Randall.
