HAYDEN PANETTIERE’S BOYFRIEND WAS HANDCUFFED AFTER A BAR ALTERCATION — THEN STARTED SHOUTING ABOUT HER DEATH

Brian Hickerson was detained after an alleged incident at a South Carolina bar, where witnesses say an argument escalated and a bar stool was thrown.

Just weeks after the death of actress Hayden Panettiere, her on-and-off boyfriend Brian Hickerson was handcuffed by police following an alleged altercation at a South Carolina bar.

The incident happened Saturday night, Sept. 12, at Wild Wing Cafe in Greenville, according to People and other reports.

Hickerson was not arrested or charged, but his brother, Zach Hickerson, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

THE NIGHT QUICKLY SPIRALED

According to reports, Brian and Zach had been drinking at the bar for several hours when an argument reportedly broke out.

Video obtained by TMZ appears to show Brian throwing a bar stool backward as tensions escalated.

Police were called to the restaurant at around 9:10 p.m. and found the brothers involved in the disturbance.

Brian was placed in handcuffs and temporarily detained before being released without charges. Zach was taken into custody on suspicion of disorderly conduct.

THEN HE STARTED TALKING ABOUT HAYDEN

What happened next drew even more attention.

While sitting outside the bar with his hands cuffed, Brian was recorded shouting accusations involving the Greenville Police Department and Hayden’s death.

In the footage, he claimed that police had leaked information about what happened to Panettiere.

The moment quickly spread online because it came less than a month after the actress’ sudden death.

HAYDEN’S DEATH IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION

Panettiere died on Aug. 16 at age 36 after she was found unresponsive in Greenville.

Brian and his brother Zach were at the residence when emergency responders arrived. Zach has said Brian administered Narcan and attempted CPR.

Authorities have not announced a final cause of death. Toxicology results remain pending, and investigators are continuing to examine what happened.

Importantly, Hickerson has not been accused of causing Panettiere’s death, and authorities have previously reported no initial signs of foul play.

A TROUBLED HISTORY

Hickerson and Panettiere had a highly publicized relationship that included multiple domestic-violence cases.

He pleaded no contest in 2021 to two felony counts involving injury to a spouse or girlfriend and served jail time.

Panettiere later described the relationship as abusive in her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning.

In the days before the latest bar incident, Hickerson had also reportedly met with the DEA as part of the continuing investigation into Panettiere’s death. People reported that he had not been named a suspect.

Now, the latest bar confrontation has put Hickerson back in the spotlight — at a moment when questions surrounding Hayden Panettiere’s final days remain unanswered.
