NICARAGUAN MOTHER JESSICA TORRES AGUIRRE KILLED IN MIAMI SHOOTING AS FAMILY SEEKS ANSWERS

A 36-year-old Nicaraguan mother was killed during a shooting at a home in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood, leaving her two young daughters without their mother and another man critically injured.

Jessica Torres Aguirre was killed during the early morning hours of Saturday, September 12, 2026, inside a residence in Little Havana, according to reports from Telemundo 51 and other media outlets.

Police identified her former partner, Andy Delgado Brey, 32, as the suspected shooter, according to reports. Delgado Brey also died following the incident.

SHOOTING HAPPENED EARLY SATURDAY MORNING

According to relatives and witnesses cited by Telemundo 51, Delgado Brey arrived at the residence at around 6 a.m.

Jessica was inside the home with her two daughters, Juan Carlos González, the father of her older daughter, and a family friend.

A family friend told Telemundo 51 that he was asleep when he was suddenly awakened by screaming, crying and the sound of gunfire.

Jessica died at the scene.

González was also seriously wounded, reportedly suffering more than seven gunshot wounds. He remained hospitalized in critical condition in the days following the incident. Jessica’s 13-year-old daughter suffered a minor injury, while her 2-year-old daughter was not physically injured.

FAMILY SAYS JESSICA HAD ENDED THE RELATIONSHIP

According to Jessica’s relatives, she had ended her relationship with Delgado Brey, who was the father of her younger daughter.

Family members said Jessica had subsequently reconnected with González, the father of her older daughter.

Relatives believe that change in Jessica’s relationship may have contributed to the confrontation, but authorities had not publicly confirmed a motive at the time of the reports.

Jessica’s mother, Mirna del Carmen Aguirre, told Telemundo 51 that she had spoken with her daughter by phone only hours before the shooting.

She described Jessica as a hardworking, cheerful woman and said she was struggling to understand how her daughter could have been taken from her so suddenly.

CLAIMS OF PREVIOUS HARASSMENT

Family members also alleged that Jessica had experienced harassment after ending her relationship with Delgado Brey.

Her mother told reporters that Jessica had described threatening behavior and attributed the statement “If you are not mine, you will not be his either” to Delgado Brey.

Those allegations have been reported by multiple outlets, but they remain family allegations and have not been independently confirmed by police.

The sister of Delgado Brey, meanwhile, questioned the family’s account and told Telemundo 51 that she did not believe he was responsible for what happened, underscoring that some circumstances of the case remained disputed.

SUSPECT ALSO DIED

Delgado Brey was found dead following the shooting.

Reports citing witnesses and relatives said he remained inside the residence as police arrived and later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. However, reports noted that authorities had not publicly released a complete account of the circumstances surrounding his death.

FAMILY HOPES TO BRING JESSICA HOME

As the investigation continues, Jessica’s family in Nicaragua is facing the painful task of arranging her funeral.

Relatives have launched a fundraising effort to help cover the costs of transporting her remains from Miami back to Nicaragua, where they hope to give her a final farewell in her homeland.

Jessica’s death has left two daughters without their mother, while González remains hospitalized following the shooting.

For Jessica’s family, the immediate priority is bringing her home — while authorities continue working to establish exactly what happened inside the Little Havana residence that September morning.
